1612-1680 Dutch Frans Post Gallery was a Dutch painter. He was the first European artist to paint landscapes of the New World. In 1636 he traveled to Dutch Brazil at the invitation of Johan Maurits van Nassau-Siegen, who was governor-general there, at the suggestion of his brother Pieter Post. In 1644, Post returned to Haarlem. Of his Brazilian landscapes, some depict actual locations, while others are probably imaginary. Albertinelli's contribution to the Florentine High Renaissance was inspired by the work of FRA BARTOLOMMEO, and the two artists worked together in a partnership, their paintings appearing to be the product of a single hand. Albertinelli, however, always retained artistic independence, as is revealed in certain paintings that are eccentrically archaic and in others that show a preference for conventions more typical of the early Renaissance.
Johann Conrad Seekatz
1719-1768 Rococo,German,German painter. He studied with his brother, Johann Ludwig Seekatz (b 1711), and with Philipp Hieronymus Brinckmann (1709-61) in Mannheim (1748-51); he became court painter to Landgraf Ludwig VIII von Hesse-Darmstadt in Darmstadt in 1753.
